As Leading Proctologists in Greenville NC, We’re Here to Help
The city of Greenville NC is the health and education hub of the state’s Tidewater and Coastal Plain. With close to 90,000 residents, it’s also home to a number of top professional BMX riders and is known as BMX Pro Town USA. The city has one of the State’s largest healthcare communities due to the presence of East Carolina University’s Brody School of Medicine, and leading proctology practice Saleeby & Wessels is proud to help serve this community in its Raleigh location just 90 miles away.
Who are Saleeby and Wessels?
Saleeby and Wessels (S&W) Proctology was founded in 1955 by Dr. Richard Saleeby, Sr., a board-certified colon and rectal surgeon. He realized the need for proctology expertise in Greenville NC, and the practice has been relieving the suffering of treatable conditions caused by pain, itching and bleeding ever since.
Dr. Saleeby, Sr was joined by his son, Dr. Richard Saleeby, Jr. and Dr. Frank Wessels, who are both highly-skilled colon and rectal surgeons certified by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery (ABCRS) and the American Board of Surgery (ABS).
What Can We Do for You?
We provide diagnosis and treatment for a range of colon and rectal conditions. Whether you’re dealing with a medical issue such as colon cancer or Crohn’s disease, or simply need a physical examination or colonoscopy to reassure you of your continued good health, we can help. Some of the conditions we deal with include:
- The evaluation and treatment of symptoms: These include anal bleeding, discharge, itching, pain, protrusion or swelling
- Changes in bowel habits: Changes such as the development of constipation or diarrhea can be disconcerting and challenging, and we will uncover the causes and provided recommendations for treatment.
- Fecal incontinence: This difficult condition can be treated with methods such as dietary changes, medications, exercises, biofeedback or surgery.
- Pelvic floor dysfunction: This can affect a patient’s ability to have a complete bowel movement, resulting in incomplete emptying of the bowel.
We try at all times to find the least invasive solution for your specific condition. Many anorectal conditions can be treated in our office, and we only resort to surgery if there is no other solution available. When it is necessary, however, our board-certified colon and rectal surgeons are skilled and experienced in providing you with the care you require.
How Do We Treat You?
Our primary goal is always to offer the best care possible for anyone needing proctology services in Greenville NC, and our compassionate and knowledgeable team ensures this. We’ll diagnose your problem using the most up-to-date technology available, with methods such as a screening colonoscopy, polypectomy and a proctosigmoidoscopy.
